Merck Serono commercializes its Concor® family of products containing the active ingredient bisoprolol, a beta1-selective beta-blocker, in more than 90 countries worldwide. The Concor family of products is the backbone of Merck Serono’s cardiovascular franchise which is marketed along with a range of locally commercialized products.

Bisoprolol is characterized by its high beta1-selectivity (helping to avoid undesirable ß2 mediated side-effects on lung function, peripheral circulation, serum lipids and carbohydrate metabolism) and by its robust pharmacokinetics which enable once-daily administration and high bioavailability.
